Snow. White, fluffy, falling from up there, above, where the Snow Gods hold back at times. ALL SKI RESORTS need snow, Mother Nature snow is best, manmade can do in a pinch. Taos Ski Valley is in the southern reaches of the snow storms and MauiSkiBus has not been able to ski Taos as Taos is meant to be skied due to a lack of the white fluffs of frozen water moisture. With a unseen mountain from the base offering nearly 50% expert drops, this is an expert skiers mountain when the fluff is deep enough.
Of all ski resorts visited by MauiSkiBus, Taos seems to have most eccentric crowd. It seems that no matter where you turn, a unique character emerges, seems that th e 60′s are still alive. These Taosites can ski though. Ski with the best of the best, as Taos Mt. makes one a great skier. Beginners do not stay beginners here very long, say a day or two, because Taos limits non-ability skiers from really venturing out of the green zone. The Black zone is where it is at Taos. Now the white needs to cover all that black on the steeps of Taos, New Mexico.
