Breckenridge, The Who wrote a song here

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles, seems to be a bit about Breckenridge. So high, a skier can fly here, picking peaks that play with 13,000 feet, a peak here for one day, a peak over there for another day, all giving miles and miles and miles of views. Easy access from the easy to park parking lots, a gondola that is very efficient to use, and so many different events going once up on the mountain overlooking the fantastic former mining town of Breckenridge.

And the town itself, a comment from the credible experiences of MauiSkiBus. During the 2012 ski adventure that MauiSkiBus was able to ski 104 resorts, all of the major ski towns were visited. Mammoth, both shores of Tahoe, Whistler, Sun Valley, Fernie, Banff, Kicking Horse, Park City, Jackson Hole, Aspen, Big Sky, Taos, Vail Valley, Telluride, Steamboat, and then Breckenridge. Breckenridge has the longest single stretch of a main street, so wonderful to see when the Christmas lights are up.

Kristen Pettit from the fantastic marketing team of Vail Resorts/Breckenridge Resort, was very supportive, as all of the Vail Resorts have been, of MauiSkiBus. While MauiSkiBus was safely parked in the easy to use parking, many had taken photos of this bright yellow unique vehicle from Maui. MauiSkiBus has many family/ friends in this easy to get to ski destination up I-70, wishes to spend more days here, as one day skiing Breckenridge is not enough. So off to the heights of this mountain, seeing for miles and miles and miles and miles………

50 Different Yoga Studios 2015 Season

MauiSkiBus2 has a softer goal of only 50 different western ski resorts in the 2015 season, instead of the 100 in 2012. What was really missing in 2012 was the ability to stretch in a warm place, so this season, 50 different yoga studios will added to the adventure. These studios will be in and around ski resorts areas, will a very active population, both in the winter and the summer. MauiSkiBus promotes “Meatless Mondays”, “Sodaless Saturdays” and encourages an organic healthy lifestyle.

All dudes need to take at least yoga classes over a two week period. This is a must. Why? Wanna be a better skier? Boarder? Mt. Biker? Football? Any sport will benefit from taking yoga classes designed not for any sport, but design by your body for your body. Guys? Why do you think that ladies that love yoga have the “yoga look?”

#2 Revolution Yoga studio, with a Rebel 2015

MauiSkiBus does another sport, off road mt. bike triathlons called Xterra. Maui is the home of the Xterra World Championship Mt. Bike Triathlon and a local resident of Avon/Beaver Creek, Josiah Middaugh, has had great success as a pro. Josiah and his lovely wife Ingrid, invited MauiSkiBus to dinner and MauiSkiBus invited the Middaugh family a drive around to Christmas carol. One stop, was Julie of Revolution Yoga, and only her children, as her husband was teaching yoga at the county jail.

Rainbow colored hair, Ms. Julie has, a to the point way to teach, making sure that all in her class smile or giggle, holding poses that she watches with an eagle eye. Revolution appeals to locals, easy to attend after dropping off children at the school down the street. Revolution Yoga offers no reason not to attend, as an added benefit, plenty of easy parking, a nice area to change, and a local feel of a yoga studio.

The First Yoga class, Westin Anjali Avon/Beaver Creek 2015

MauiSkiBus was successful in skiing 104 different resorts in 2012, however one component was missing. A warm place to stretch. Inside MauiSkiBus is a chin-up bar that doubles as an inversion bar to hang upside down, relieving pressure on a spine and joints that took stress from too many moguls. Still, MauiSkiBus has no heat. It might be 10 degrees inside, a bit difficult to really stretch correctly.

MauiSkiBus2  will attempt to visit 100 different yoga studios and Ingrid Middaugh, of the Westin Spa Anjali, Sanskrit for “divine offering” at the base of Beaver Creek,  loved the 100 yoga studio idea and set MauiSkiBus up with a hot yoga class with instructor Tanya. Instead of just warm, a hot class! This spa is very classy, set overlooking the Eagle River, and will be a center point for the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Feb. 2015 A who’s who crowd at time maybe here, however, no matter that, as keep a focus on your pose, as a yoga class will attract all classes of souls. Thanks Ingrid for being #1.

Class was 1/2 female 1/2 men.

Vail, Is it like no ski resort on Earth? 2015

During the 2012 MauiSkiBus season successfully skiing 104 different ski resorts, the #1 question was, what was your favorite. MauiSkiBus’s answer was the all female organic chocolate dessert party that MauiSkiBus crashed in a Whole Foods in Vancouver. So back to Vail. Yes, there is something so unique about Vail. The name is simple. Vail. Driving by on I-70, the mountains looms so high overheard, pulling ski thighs to play. The Village of Vail makes one wonder, are you really in Europe. Lifts move skiers. Epic Pass, a no brainer. Back Bowls, be careful, so big, so awesome, so easy to get lost on a perfect line.

MauiSkiBus worked in the past with Liz Biebl and MauiSkiBus2 worked with Sara Lococo. Both receive an A+ in follow-up and communication. So important for a business, no matter the size, as Vail does share that feel that they advertise. Their reputation deserves what it receives. Then the snow, as MauiSkiBus played all day at Vail with John La Conte of the Vail Daily. John does live roving broadcasts on Vail, sharing exact moment snow conditions, lift line waits, special things about Vail Mountain, a very special mountain to ski.

Vail was the second resort to be skied by MauiSkiBus2, as there is a wish to keep on playing on Vail, such a huge open great ski mountain here in the USA. MauiSkiBus2 loves Vail, as so many others do too.

Beaver Creek: An Experiance, Class Act, and Another World Championship 2015

Success in business, a great product, a consumer demand, timing, reputation, and marketing. What keeps success? All of the previous. MauiSkiBus worked with nearly 100 different marketing departments during the success of skiing 104 different ski resorts during the 2012 season. Vail/Beaver Creek marketing department receives an A+ from MauiSkiBus. This is one of the components of the success of Vail Associates. Even as an elite resort that Beaver Creek is, Jen Brown and Ashley Smith were on it as far as follow-up communication with MauiSkiBus and the tropical ski bum that dreamed up this idea. MauiSkiBus is more a grass roots marketing exposure for Beaver Creek, does not have a skiing reputation like Lindsay Vonn or Ted Ligety, or is not an expensive fancy dancy winter RV vehicle.

What MauiSkiBus2 does have is an exposure to the average masses that may wonder what that yellow bus with Hawaii license plates is doing in the ski country. One does not have to be an elite skier, have a huge wallet, or feel intimidated to visit and ski Beaver Creek. Yes, there are numerous $10,000,000 plus homes the dot the Beaver Creek Village, many vacant through much of the year. With the Epic Pass that Vail/Beaver Creek offers, a skiing day at Beaver Creek can be attained by those masses that see MauiSkiBus driving from resort to resort.

The FIS Alpine World Championships will arrive again to the Beaver Creek mountain in Feb 2015. Over 700 world class athletes, many from the past Olympics, ones that dream of future Olympics, will be in the Vail Valley, mainly at Beaver Creek. There is a reason the Beaver Creek has held this event for the third time. Beaver Creek is an experience, a class act, and the marketing department is rated an A+ by MauiSkiBus2.

MauiSkiBus2 2015 Season

MauiSkiBus2, 2015 ski season has a softer goal from the 2012 goal of 100 different western USA/Canada resorts. The actual number was 104 in 2012, 17,000 mountain miles driven, no deer kills, and due to the low snow, chains were not used. The goal for 2015 is 50 different western USA/Canada ski resorts and 50 different yoga studio visits.

Ski resorts to non-skiers seem to not have a big attraction. This should not be true. A cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate will taste better at a ski lodge than at your kitchen table. Reading a book next to a stone fireplace in a mountain lodge, a walk through ski villages while soft snowflakes float from the heavens, the feel of cold crisp air will bring new life to lungs that breath too soft.

MauiSkiBus has had great success from a vision that started on a tropical island by an island loving ski bum living in 80 degrees, dreaming about fresh snow. To ski 100 different resorts is way different than skiing 100 days at one resort. MauiSkiBus2 will have a more flexible schedule, allowing more time to influence more people to live life to the fullest, to set goals for themselves and their children, to realize that that the life clock ticks away, precious seconds that are gone, tick, tick, tick…… to never return.

So you that read this, or share this, or dream about doing something like this, do this. Or do what is your passion. Forget the silly New Year’s resolutions. Today is your NEW YEAR, now is your opportunity. So enjoy the travels of MauiSkiBus2!

A See NO ERA

Ski resorts should be a model for human inter-relations, as what may seem busy and scattered, is really organized. For example, the actual drive to a ski resort when the roads are snow covered and icy. Drivers start with impaired vision, wipers going back and forth, ice bombs that fall off of cars to avoid, agressive four wheel drive trucks behind that want to pass too fast, and then getting the defrost heat working just right. Once in the parking lot, following the lot attendents directions, avoiding skier and snowboarders in the lot, and making sure to get good traction with no snow tires.  From there, it is getting gear on, getting a lift ticket, getting in line, and getting on the chair lift in a order sequence that is not really spelled out correctly. Once on the mountain, what run to take, where to meet for lunch, how to avoid the numerous snowboarders sitting in an un-organized manner, usually in the middle of the run, and then the mass of all at the base getting ready to go home. This goes on at all ski resorts, especially on the weekends and one resort that seems to have a See to no eras, has boulders to ski off of scattered all over the slopes in an organized manner.

SierraTahoe just wants you to "Go with the Flow".

Groomers are for the grommers that like it easy. A switch to that is air, whether a little or heap of air, into the ski statosphere, high above a Rt.50, where famous emerge, famous from the five rings and the radical X. Ladies seem to be the lean of the way at Si no Era, as Teter Gold Rings H, Anderson X J., and Bowman X M., no Era’s of the Si, near the Lake of Tahoe. Boulders are scattered in an organized manner throughout the giant trees to hug, slopes are here to burn thighs, to twist, to tear apart one that drives on by, looking for a bigger name to ski. See from here, high above, a 360 cafe boasting a 360 view, white of snow capped peaks of the Sierras and blue of the Lake of Tahoe.

A 360 view will show off to eyes the Lake of the Blue, TahoeHugging is better than hitting the trees of SierraTahoe.

Sierra Tahoe, far from pineapples, but thinking MauiSkiBus is “Powered by Pineapple Juice”, as marketing Leslie posted, with marketing Lauren and Katie softly rolling happy Sierra eyes. Sir Steve of the Sierra, was off at the Games of X, supporting the Sierra X Triplets, with medals to return to share dishes of delight made just for them. What may feel on a busy weekend of scatterness is actually organized here at Sierra Tahoe. Terrain parks for little or big air, a wild west town to ski through, some Star Wars figures to avoid, creative ideas flow all over the small name ski resort that MauiSkiBus DID NOT put on the 2011/2012 official list of 104 resorts skied in one season. A scolding by many was given and a small fun ski trip of 2013 will make sure that Sierra Tahoe WILL be on the official list for 2013/2014.

Sometimes a closed sign means closed for a good reason.

Krik of the Doow, 104th resort in one season 2012

EDITORS NOTE. THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT ORDER. EFFORTS HAVE BEEN TRIED TO CORRECT THE ORDER. “KIRK OF THE DOW” SHOULD BE UNDER THE “A SEE NO ERA”. STAND BY FOR FUTURE CORRECTIONS.

Injuries are worth it or not? A MMA/UFC fighter is aware that he might get a serious knockout. A NCAA/NFL football player is well aware of torn knee ligamints.  NHL hockey players smile with black holes, teethless grins. PBA bull riders have 8 seconds of pain and gore, then they get off. Then there are golfers. OK, next on the injury list. A broken leg. Skiers dread a broken leg. MauiSkiBus had a sadistic goal on the last resort on the last day on the last run, to break a leg. Damn, it did not happen, did not happen at the newest ski resort to be added to the vast empire of Vail.

USA on top, Hawaii on bottom and MauiSkiBusettes at KikwoodInside MauiSkiBus with all the 104 resorts listed, Kirkwood #104

Way over there, way out of the way, is a locale of a ski resort that has miles and miles of wood all around, something Capt. Kirk could see from space. MauiSkiBus has followed the snow that falls here year after year, just never seemed to get way out here in the woods of Capt. Kirk, to shred down slopes seemed to be designed just for a skier to rip. Once here, MauiSkiBus felt as if it was out of the coop, just to find a marketing Coop named Kevin, a voice to echo throughout Capt. Kirk’s Woods.

MauiSkiBus and Fischer Watea skis fininished with 104 resorts at Kirkwood, CA.

Kirkwood has been found, Kirkwood had been skied, Kirkwood had not been tamed, nor did Kirkwood break a leg. MauiSkiBus met some rad locals that went fast and fast down the bumps, with hoots and shouts from above, above by those riding Capt. Kirk’s chairs. This is a skiers destination. Forget the fancy, forget the show and tell, forget portfolios. Kirkwood should have a gate at the entrance, a guard named Capt. Kirk, an entry demand that one must come here to ski and ski it is. Kirkwood was a fantastic last resort to MauiSkiBus’s goal to attain 100, with the actual number 104 resorts in one ski season. Until next season, no break a leg.

Hell no, I rather go to ……ly.

Deep inside all human brains is a spot. That simple spot we know little about. Most do not realize that this spot runs most of our days, is responsible for freeze, flight, fight, food, and of course fornication. That spot loves blue, deep deep blue, so deep it is over 1600 feet deep blue. Going up at this south shore spot will add more visual of blue for that spot. Higher and higher, a brain can ascend, above the blue, closer to the blue above, more blue for that spot. So delightful is the surrounding blue, one may feel they have left Earth and gone to a ……ly spot. So much blue down there and so close to the blue up there.

Front row VIP spot for MauiSkiBus under heaven.

The best part of a ski resort is not skiing. How can that be? If a ski resort can offer an awesome asset that is not related directly to skiing, how much better will the skiing actually be? Non-skiers might feel intimidated by the high athletic energy that surrounds and ski resorts. The sport does require more of a fit torso and a male/female soul that can handle the cold. This should be an attraction to non-skiers and then the feel of a resort itself. Get to a ski resort all non-skiers, you might feel a taste of heaven.

Front row and center, right under the tram that goes the opposite of hell, was MauiSkiBus parked. A Russ and a Sally, angels employeed by heaven, made sure MauiSkiBus was given the keys to heaven. A ly would make it Heavenly, so close to the deep blue of Lake Take, all 1,600 feet deep. Safety is the word here, even though the most famous run uses mogul skiers as bullets, ripping apart Gunbarrel.

Ski resort #103 was an awesome taste of Heaven

A non-skier would have that deep spot in their brain entertained by the feel of this resort. The deep blue of Lake Tahoe by day and by night the glam of the mini-strip of gambling lights would be added.  Sleep could be had here at Heavenly, not at night nor not on the slopes. Maybe on the chair going up, however that deep spot in the brain will awake to view the deep blue of

There is no way to beat the view here where the snow god lives.

Lake Tahoe.

Heavenly Ski Resort is another fine sister in the Vail family of ski resorts. To say the slopes are better, better than what? So many ski resorts have so many great slopes. Something stands out here at Heavenly, and the view here does match the name of this resort. Everybody wants chocolate, to save the world, and to go to Heavenly.
